Hot and Crazy Summer Daze
Summer’s finally coming to an end. (Sniff...) I really don’t want it to end, but this summer has been a mass of major chaos!! Loads of activity, and tons of fun, but I’m almost glad to see it go so that I can get back to work!! (Crafting’s work, right?)
First off, I really need to apologize to my neglected newsletter readers. I’m STILL working on July’s newsletter. Yes, I said JULY. That’s how far behind I am!! (I’m pretty sure someone snuck in and stole a couple of months from me this summer!! I swear only 5 minutes ago August was on its way in...)
Here’s a mini run down on my insane summer:
My sister got married in my back yard in June. All the prep and post work went fairly smoothly, just took up a lot of time. It was a beautiful ceremony, as well as a beautiful bride and handsome groom. I’ll have to post some pictures. It really was very magical, and had a wonderful unicorn theme. :0)
In July, my house was broken into, unfortunately, multiple times. They ended up making off with my camera, among other things. Pretty difficult to post pictures of what you’re doing when you don’t have a camera. :0(
(We do know who did it, and some things were recovered, but not my camera. ...sigh...)
There were birthday parties, pool parties, 2 holidays and lots of out of town company. My son came down from school to visit for most of the month of July, as well. We gallivanted all over the state to make sure he got to see everyone he’d been missing since he left last October. He had his daughter with him most of the time, so there wasn’t much relaxation going on. (I had forgotten how busy 2 year olds can be!!)
I still think my July was missing a few weeks, though...
August brought camping trips, birthday parties, friend emergencies, fair booths, school shopping, soccer games, and all sorts of random, last-minute get togethers. I also started taking a new class...which also means homework. (Why is it so hard to find time as an adult to do homework?? You force your kids to do theirs in a timely fashion, but when it comes to doing your own, you seem to always be cramming!!)
Somewhere in there I did manage to sneak in some crafting. I learned how to do Romanian Lace and taught myself how to Needle Tat. I’ve crocheted a couple of projects and been tatting up a storm, (I think that’s my newest addiction!) but I haven’t managed any time on the computer. I’m hoping my readers will be understanding and forgiving. My summer has just raced by without much of a pause.
I am making a pact with myself right now, to dedicate some time, each week, to work on my site. Hopefully that will mean I can finally get my long overdue newsletter out! Wish me luck!!
(Oh, and if you see that sneaky crook that stole my summer, let me know. I have a bone to pick with him!!)
Until next time....
Lisa
